10 day adventure family vacation of Vietnam – Following adventure trip has been carefully planned for families traveling with kids through Vietnam. We welcome you in Hanoi, capital city where you will enjoy a pleasant cyclo ride tour in Hanoi’s old quarter. Next we travel by road to Mai Chau visiting Buoc Village and Mai Hich. Our next stop for the family vacation of 10 day will be Bai Tu long Bay connecting with Halong Bay for a mesmerizing experience stay overnight on board the Halong Bay cruise with your family.

The 10 day family vacation will continue and we will travel to Hoi An for a few day stay before travel to Ho Chi Minh city and Cu Chi tunnels. Note: This trip is best possible top be combined with Siem Reap and Angkor Wat – please check our Cambodia tour packages for possible extension

10 day adventure family vacation of Vietnam

Day 1 : Hanoi arrival

Arriving in Hanoi, we will be welcomed by our guide and transfer to the city center for an orientation tour. We then take a Cyclo tour through the Old Quarter, walk around the Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the Ngoc Son temple. Overnight Hanoi

Day 2 : Hanoi – Mai Chau Valley – Buoc Village (B/L/D)

At 8:00 am, we will leave the city behind and depart to Mai Chau through craggy, mountainous landscape. We drive up a massive pass and end in the mountainous circus of Mai Chau. The sites we will visit are Pom coong and Lac villages where we can observe the Thai wooden home-stay on stilts and have lunch with the host’s family.

In the afternoon, we will transfer to Buoc village, the small remote village of Mai Chau Valley. You will have the choice of either hiking or cycling around the village. If the weather is good, we can also go check out the nice cascades hidden somewhere, few kilometers behind the village. Afterwards, we return for dinner and overnight at home-stay with our friendly Thai hosts

Day 3: Buoc Village – Mai Hich – Hanoi (B/L/-)

Because the daily life of Thai people starts from the crack of the dawn, you therefore should get up early enough in order not to miss the chance to stroll around the village to observe and take part in their activities before having breakfast prepared by Thai people/

Afterwards, we will depart to visit Mai Hich Village, about 4km from Buoc village. You will have opportunities to step into the wild with an awesome hike on trails across the village and the field. Even though the hike is not too hard and lasts 2 hours, you had better bring along good shoes and batteries for your camera. Finally, we take the bamboo raft in 1 hour.
Lunch at the local’s home. After lunch, we drive back to Hanoi.

Day4: Hanoi – Bai Tu Long – Thien Canh Son Cave (B/L/D)

You will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter and embark at Hon Gai International harbor.
In the middle of the day, we will have lunch while cruising to magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay, admiring the fascinating formations on the way Explore the well-hidden Thien Canh Son Cave, relaxing on a white sandy beach at Hon Co Island, and swimming or kayaking. Back to junk for refreshing before having dinner on board. In the evening, you can relax and enjoy the fresh air. Overnight on board the Halong Bay Cruise

Day 5: Vung Vieng Fishing Village – Hon Gai Harbour (B/L)

Morning view of Bay’s landscape with a cup of tea or coffee. Have breakfast in the fresh air and looking at the morning view of the Bay with a cup of tea or coffee. After that, we will visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village by a rustic row-boat. When leaving the row-boat, we start cruising towards the harbor while enjoying an A la carte lunch then drive to Yen Duc village in Dong Trieu Province to enjoy water puppet show performed by local artists. Finally, we come back and stay overnight in Hanoi

Day 6: Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An

After having breakfast, we will take flight to Da Nang. On the way from Da Nang to Hoi An ancient town, we will pay a visit to the Marble Mountain where local skillful sculptors create many marble products, which are exported to many countries worldwide, and Cham museum. In the afternoon, we start visiting Hoi An ancient town which is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with several sights including: the Chinese Assembly Halls, the Japanese Covered Bridge , the Phuc Kien Pagoda and the Tan Ky House. Later on, we will take a boat cruise on Thu Bon river to visit the Thanh Ha, the ceramic and pottery village to learn how to make the beautiful jars, bow. Overnight in Hoi an

Day 7: Hoi An – Tra Que village

Tra Que – a little charming village lies on the edge of Hoi An. Tra Que Village is named after the sweetly scented vegetable which is the essential ingridient to make Hoi An specialities such as Cao Lau, Quang Noodle. Besides, you can also enjoy the interesting cooking class to make “Tam Huu” spring roll which is primarily made from Tra Que vegetables; or make pancake with meat (Banh xeo).

A.M: Experience half day living and working with the local people at the Tra Que vegetable village where you will have a chance to discover the daily life of the local farmers.
P.M: Free time at leisure to enjoy the calm town of Hoi An
Optional: Lantern making discovery – at 20usd/pax: you will ride a bicycle to the home of a craftsman in the city. Here you will get a brief introduction to the history, shape, and color of the lanterns as well as the stages of making. Then you will be shown how to decorate and make your own lanterns and keeps it for yourself as a souvernir.
Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8: Da Nang- Ho Chi Minh (B)

When finishing your breakfast at the hothel, we will head to the airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh city, the biggest city of Vietnam. Arriving at the airport, you will be welcomed by our local guide and transfer to the city center to visit the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office. Afterwards, we will visit the War Remnants museum, the China Town, Thien Hau pagoda and Ben Thanh market . Overnight Ho Chi Minh city

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels on speedboat (B/L/-)

You will start your day with morning hotel pickup and transfer to your luxury speedboat at Ho Chi Minh Pier. With our high quality teak vessel, you can travel comfortably to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, while enjoying some local fruits with unlimited refreshments on board. You can also observe the life along the riverbanks as your guide informs you about the local people’s river-based livelihoods. It is time to take photos of the Saigon River’s jungle-fringed canals and tributaries, where you might see houses on stilts or water buffalo at work.

When disembarking at Cu Chi Tunnels, you will be lead through the historic site, which has become the war memorial that features the impressive labyrinth of tunnels dug by Viet Cong guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War (known in Vietnam as the American War). Tour sections consist of the 75-mile-long (121-km) complex, which played an important role in many Vietnamese military campaigns such as the Mau Than Lunar New Year campaign of 1968.

You can even slip into one of the narrow passageways to imagine how the supply routes and communications, hospitals, and food and weapons caches were operated underground. After experiencing the tunnels, enjoy your lunch on traditional Vietnamese fare at a riverside restaurant. After that, we will return to Ho Chi Minh City.
