Sapa to Nha Trang 16 day

A tour itinerary that gives you a step by step chance to visit Vietnam’s green discovery from colonial Hanoi to the colorful ethnic tribal villages in Sapa, the trip starts upon request and it run as a private basis or small group tour. Sapa to Nha Trang 16 day start in Hanoi and end in Saigon with lots of great experience and grand sightseeing in between.

Day 1 Hanoi Arrival

Arrive and transfer to hotel, short rest before taking the cyclo ride through the Hanoi old quarter. Overnight Hanoi

Day 2 Hanoi tour – Night train to Sapa

A city tour will takes you to heart of the Hanoi old quarter from where you visit some old temples including Bach Ma, then head to visit Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, one pillar pagoda, temple of literature & History museum, tonight we board the night train to Lao Cai

Day 3 Captivating Sapa

After an early arrival in Lao Cai we take a short drive to Sapa and take breakfast in local restaurant before visiting a local colorful market. We then take a leisurely walk to Cat Cat village, home to the famous Black H’mong minorities and pay a visit to a local family. Then we visit Cat Cat waterfall for lunch. This afternoon we take a trail through the mountain surrounded by spectacular scenery to another local village. Latter we drive back to Sapa for the overnight stay

Day 4 Light trekking – Visit tribal villages

This morning we head to the Lao Chai Vilage from where we begin a short trekking to Ta Van village – home to the Dzay minorities for a rest and a picnic lunch. After lunch we continue our walk through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai. This is a village of the Red Dao tribe, who dress in beautiful embroidered trousers topped with bright red turbans and chunky silver jewellery. Before we head back to Sapa we visit another beautiful waterfall for a refreshing end to the day. Sapa Overnight

Day 5 Sapa free & easy – night train back to Hanoi

Today is spent at leisure in Sapa. Explore the area on your own, Sapa also has a local market where you can buy souvenirs and try your hand at haggling. This evening we embark aboard our train back to Hanoi, the charming capital city of Vietnam

Day 6 Hanoi – Halong Bay with cruise

Arrive, transfer to hotel for breakfast and shower, then a scenic drive leads us to the stunningly beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Boarding our traditional wooden junk boat we cruise the emerald waters soaking up the panoramic vista of the thousand or so karst limestone islands that stud the bay.

Later opt for a refreshing swim in one of the many sheltered coves before taking row boats to ‘Dark & Bright Lagoon’ Tonight, there’s a Vietnamese cooking demonstration held on the sundeck before an impressive seafood dinner is served.

Day 7 Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue

Start the day with a Tai Chi class on the sundeck or a traditional massage. After exploring a lofty grotto or enjoy a Kayaking through the magnificent Bay, lunch on board then, transfer to port to drive back to Hanoi.

Arriving to Hanoi mid afternoon an hour or so is spent exploring the ‘36 streets of the old quarter’. The motorbike swarming narrow lanes are each named after various guilds of the city’s artisan who established themselves here centuries ago. There is Silver Street, Silk Street, Comb Street, Paper Street and more. The maze of rambling streets are framed by narrow front tube houses and we may have a chance to sample the exotic fruits, sizzling noodle dishes and delightfully sticky snacks being offers by he pavement vendors.

A little time will be given to freshen up before boarding the train (4 berth sleeper cabin, basic standard) on he ‘Reunification Express’ railway line to Hue.

Day 8 Hue and its imperial citadel

Upon arrival to Hue we embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the 19th-century Nguyen empire capital. We visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, home to the oldest monastery in the city, whose 21m high tower has become something of a symbol for Hue and the citadel. Within the citadel is the Imperial Purple Palace, an exact copy of the Forbidden City in Beijing, with its impressive ramparts, formal moats and imperial palaces, some of which lay in ruin.

In the countryside lies the Royal Tombs of the Nguyen kings, here we’ll view the elaborate mausoleums of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. As the sun sets opt for a cruise in a long boat along the gentle Perfume River, Overnight Hue

Day 9 Hue – Hoi An

Today we take the scenic Hai Van Pass which offers magnificent views of beaches to one side and lush hills to the other. En route we stop for a walk along My Khe beach, a beautiful stretch of coastline which was nicknamed ‘China Beach’ by the Americans during the war, if time and weather permits maybe enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea before continuing our journey south along the coast to Hoi An.

The charming, old-world trading town of Hoi An welcome you on a short walking tour of the enchanting historical town, we’ll visit the Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Hall, 200-year-old Tam Ky house, former merchants’ homes and the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge.Hoi An Overnight

Day 10 Hoi An countryside – night train to Nha Trang

A bicycle ride into the countryside, leads us to Tra Que village. Here,we discover age old farming practices and learn about traditional medicine. It’s a hands on experience today where we’ll assist with tending the fields and gardens and cooking lunch. Free afternoon at leisure in Hoi An then we transfer to Danang to take a night train to Nha Trang

Day 11 & 12 Nha Trang free day at beach

Arrive in the morning, check in at your hotel, rest of the day will be at leisure to swim in the ocean or opt for an optional tours for diving and snorkeling. Overnight Nha Trang

Day 13 Flight to Saigon + tour the city

Flight to Saigon, the metropolis city that offers anything from chaos to hustling bustling markets and vibrant nightlife, arrive, check in and an afternoon tour lead us to visit city’s tourist attractions including central post office, Notre Dame cathedral, reunification palace and famous Ben Thanh market. Overnight Saigon

Day 14 Mekong Delta – Can Tho

Drive to the Mekong Delta. Often referred to as the ‘rice bowl’ of Vietnam, the fertile Mekong Delta is famous for its abundant harvests of tropical fruits, flowers and rice, as well as it fantastic views while boating along the canals. Taking our sampan from Vinh Long we’ll cruise downstream from Cai Be through the maze of waterways watching the hubbub of daily life on the river. Passing colourful trading boats, house boats and children swimming we stop to visit some of the local cottage industries that produce popcorn, coco candies and paper along the way. Lunch is served today in a traditional wooden home on Dong Hoa Hiep Island, overnight in Can Tho

Day 15 Mekong – Saigon

Early today we visit Cai Rang floating market, one of the most interesting one in whole region, after lunch we drive back to Saigon, a free afternoon at your leisure. Overnight Saigon
